Keep one simple log
Record date, kilometres, work, parts and invoice reference. Retain receipts or scans. Separate completed repairs from recommendations so an old estimate is not later mistaken for work done.
Record unresolved symptoms
Note recurring noises or messages and when they appear: cold engine, rain or after a longer drive. Give the repairer observations rather than guessing which part has failed.
Use the history honestly
A clear record helps an inspector understand the car. Do not describe it as fully serviced if history is missing. Explain what remains unverified and remove personal payment information from copies shared publicly.
General information, not a vehicle inspection or confirmation of stock. Budget examples are planning figures. Current prices and availability must be confirmed.
